Multiplex SNaPshot, a typing technique based on the principle of fluorescently labelled single base extensions, is aimed at medium throughput SNP typing projects. The main principle is the single base extension technique, by designing primers in the immediate vicinity of the SNP site, adding SNP site primers to the reaction, amplifying the PCR product with SNP sites with fluorescently labelled ddNTP, the primers take on the fluorescence associated with the bases of the SNP sites after the single base extension, and the reaction product is analysed on a sequencer to obtain information on the SNP sites, usually the The reaction products are analysed on the sequencer to obtain information about the SNP site, usually one reaction is able to detect multiple SNP sites.
CD Genomics offers advanced snapshot genotyping methods that are highly sensitive, reproducible and require no additional equipment, and have been widely used for the detection of SNPs in plant and animal genes. We have extensive experience in helping researchers to screen and identify SNPs in plant and animal research, and in detecting small sequence variants in plant and animal genomes. Our snapshot-based SNP markers have been invaluable in advancing plant and animal genetics research.
Type of sample | Genomic DNA, fresh tissue, blood, cell samples |
---|---|
Sample size | DNA ≥ 1 μg concentration ≥ 20 ng/μL |
Sample purity | OD 260/280 = 1.8-2.0 |
Sample transport | Transported with ice packs or dry ice to ensure the hermeticity and integrity of the sample and to avoid sample contamination and loss |
Others | The samples are well preserved and not severely degraded |
